Sdf Claims: Kills More Than 600 Islamic State Militants, Liberates 236 Villages Near Raqqa

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had kicked off an offensive in November 2016, liberating the Islamic State stronghold regions, though they have claimed on 16 January (Monday), to release over 236 villages from the rule of ISIS as well killing more than over 599 fighters of the organization.


Nonetheless, Euphrates Wrath Operation was launched against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants to release Raqqa from the rule of one of the most dangerous rebels groups in Syria, reportedly it remained successful.

The Syrian Democratic Forces started its initial anti-Islamic State actions against militants in November 2016 to get back Raqqa city, though a month after launched its second offensive on on 10 December, 2016.

One of the senior leaders for the SDF told media, their forces remained successful to liberate 196 villages and a number of farms and strategic hills and 2480 square kilometer as well expelled Islamic State fighters from the historic Jaabar Citadel.

He also described a total of 3200sqkm consisting of a total of 3200sqkm have also released with blessing of God.

The SDF leadership revealed that its team has taken control a large number of the lethal missiles and other weapons as well as some vehicles of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militants. SDF continued saying that their forces also devastated more than 39 car bombs during the offensive.

The Kurdish-led force has also claimed that they have seized Manbij during the offensive, while about 42 soldiers of SDF were killed during the actions.

Although over 2500 militants have taken part of war against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and are being trained rapidly with the help of the US-led coalition.

Nonetheless, 28 Arab tribal leaders will be announcing its support for SDF in coming days, leadership said.
