Supporters of Karni Sena, a Rajput caste organization, suddenly attacked filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and destroyed sets of upcoming Indian period-drama Padmavati during filming at Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur.
The members for the caste group, accused of misleading history or against the reality, said upcoming movie holds indecent scenes revolves around Alauddin Khilji and Padmini’s love story which is totally wrong or misleads history, Narayan Divrala, district president, Karni Sena.
A large number of Karni Sena’s supporters suddenly stormed sets of the film, demanding they would not let the shooting continue more unless makers carry out changes in script of the film.
If Indian media accounts are to be believed that Bhansali upcoming directorial contains a few love making or deep romantic scenes between Padmini and Alauddin Khalji, after getting regarding script a large number of members moved Jaigarh Fort on 27 January, where entire crew along with filmmaker were busy in filming of forthcoming period-drama venture.
Having a huge crowd, Karni Sena vandalized so many equipments, while crew informed police who arrived at spot and meeting was arranged between both sides to resolve the issue.
The founder for Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi spoke expressing his rage against the indecent script of the film, distortion of history wouldn’t be tolerate, even filmmakers have to assure them changes will be carried out in storyline of Padmavati.
Anshuman Bhomia, a deputy commissioner of police, ordered police personnel to look after the matter at Jaigarh Fort, even deployed them to handle the situation, though none of both parties filed any case so far.
Furthermore, Padmavati revolves around the beautiful queen Rani Padmini’s life who was wife of Mewar ruler Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, fell in love with Turkic ruler Alauddin Khilji.
Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor are lead stars for the film.
