It was really shocking for one of the bestselling artists of all time Ms. Carey, a pop singer in the 1990s who gained five Grammys out of 34 nominations over the years, faced a bad situation in her performance at the New Year’s Eve celebration on Saturday in New York’s Times Square.
There were more than 1 million people gather there to see her performance there. Firstly, Ms. Carey told the audience that they don’t have sound check before her performance.
Then she said, “We’ll just sing,” and noted of her song, “It went to No. 1.” But failed to control the notes, and either she forgot lyrics or did not want to deliver a good performance.
Due to embarrassment, she continued her suggestion fixes from the stage and at one point she was like defending herself. “I’m trying to be a good sport here,” she told.
She was performing and at first try to recover this with “We Belong Together,” but the problem remained same and she stopped singing but this time the prerecorded track kept playing at the end “It just doesn’t get any better,” she said, before lifting the stage immediately after saying this and then left the stage.
The cause of the technical malfunction is being not immediately diagnosed. She posted on twitter an expletive-laden slang phrase with along with one upset emoji, then wrote: “Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”
